What is a ministry?

A minister is, “a servant “and to minister means, “to serve” therefore a ministry is a means of, “serving people.”  The Christian life is all about service and the Lord Jesus Christ is the Christians example of service.  When the Lord Jesus Christ was here on earth He tirelessly served others by teaching them, healing them, feeding them and of course by going to the cross at Calvary and laying down His life for the sins of all humanity.  The Lord Jesus Christ challenges all would be disciples of His in Luke 22:26 when He says, “But he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.”

At Dunluce Christian Fellowship we have various ministries where we serve the local community of Portrush.  These ministries include: Parents and Toddlers Club, Youth Club, International Nights, Family Service and Fellowship time, Street Evangelism, Good Works Campaigns, Bible Clubs and much more. Why not visit Dunluce Christian Fellowship and allow us to serve you by telling you the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ and by showing you His love.

Mission

What is a mission?

A mission is being sent to a particular place to carry out a particular function.

What is a missionary?

A Christian missionary is someone who God has guided through His word to share the message of the gospel, and who has been sent to a particular place by a local church to preach the gospel that the Lord Jesus Christ, “died for our sins, and rose again the third day.”

What about Dunluce Christian Fellowship and missions?

Dunluce Christian Fellowship has recognised God’s calling on individuals lives and has sent out various Christian missionaries, and also supports Christian missionaries who have been sent out by other local churches. It is important to understand that all Christians have been sent out into this world as missionaries by the Lord Jesus Christ, however there are some who have been called by the Lord out of secular employment to focus on a particular place or function as a Christian missionary. Whatever the Christians individual mission is, whenever they share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with others they believe that they are obeying the Lord Jesus Christ’s command in Mark 16:15 to, “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
